Somas is a documentary about intimacy, the creation of a new community, and surfing through uncertainties. What began as just another Zoom process for another artistic project affected by COVID turned into an intense and nourishing rollercoaster about what it means to share ourselves and how we build a home, a society, and a ‘juntis’ (togetherness). Somas shows how a group of people with different ages, realities, (dis)abilities, professions, and understandings—who didn’t know each other—become involved in an intimate and brave process of discoveries and adventures. And while they try to create a piece that will never be finished and will never be shown to an audience, they become a family with new rules.
